Fauzia Husain
Postdoctoral Fellow

Fauzia Husain is a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Gender and the Economy (GATE) at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, Sociology Department in 2019.  Her research investigates how women in developing world contexts such as Pakistan, contest bias, forge alliances and pursue dignity at work and in their intimate lives.  Her work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the American Association of University Women and a Fulbright Scholarship. Her  paper about gendered authority in the Pakistani police force recently received honorable mention for the Shils-Coleman Prize from the American Sociological Association’s Theory Section.
